Johni Fisher (CEO) of Buenos Aires once stated that social media has become a primary tool for higher levels of fan engagement, directly driving this generation through interaction and content sharing that is especially relevant to any company. Truism is the fact that what makes social media great in todays digital environment is that one single post has the power to reach not just one customer at a time, but a huge network of people typically known as a community. However, without the interaction of everyone, isn’t it just media?
So this makes us consider the importance of the word social in social media; and the golden word that unifies both words is Engagement. The concept of engagement requires your followers to be participants rather than viewers. In simpler terms, imagine a scenario where you were going to see a movie in the cinema or invited to participate in the screening of that same movie; evidently participation would excite you more because you can foreshadow higher engagement levels. For businesses, engagement exhibits customer’s willingness to take their time to talk about your brand to others, which implies they have a personal interest in the difference you are bringing to the market.
So at this point, giving your followers the key to your social media presence is a win win for everybody. Firstly, your brand becomes trust-worthy within your community because there is transparency in your interaction with them. Secondly, your followers can influence your community without it costing you a penny or cent or euro. These two benefits allude to the advocacy that is associated with social media.
Think of soldiers willing to go to war for their country, now reciprocate this idea into your mind by thinking of how willing your followers are willing to represent your brand when times are good and defend your brand among its detractors. If after reading this and you are excited, then you get the idea and you are ready to activate engagement with your customers. Before you take any bold steps, look at the infographic chart below. Ask yourself where does my brand fall on this wheel? what level are your followers now?
So now, I believe its time conclude this post because I have just successfully interacted with you reading this without you even realising (I know, it was cheeky) and once you reply, comment, like or share we have ENGAGEMENT.
